i bring you my eclp september monthly pages as a peace offering. i’m so sorry for being mia. you may (or may not) be happy to hear, though, that it’s because i am knee-deep in holiday planner goodies! but more on that in an email, so make sure you’re on my mailing list!
i used echo park paper stickers. yes, again.
what can i say? when you find something you love, stick with it! pun intended.
i really wanted to use these stickers before we got too deep into the holidays. but i was nervous about it not matching with september’s purple. is anyone else a bit puzzled by the purple?
anyway, i’m not one of those girls who buys a bright, gorgeous planner like the erin condren life planner and then covers every single square inch of it with stickers that have nothing to do with the colors of the planner. anyone else puzzled by THAT?
so, purple it was! i figured the colors of this echo park sticker sheet were bold enough that the deep purple would just kind of go.
a hot air balloon on the left
yellow and purple is a pretty classic match. i love the hot air balloons on this sticker sheet. so i knew i had to include at least one.
like last time, i covered some of the “blank” boxes at the start of the month. i layered the cloud on the balloon so it would fill that row without looking separate.
“happiest girls are the prettiest girls”
the purple header at the top is a must-decorate spot. any banner-type sticker i have is an immediate candidate for this spot. this “happiest girls” one fit perfectly.
how do you guys feel about the quote: “happiest girls are the prettiest girls”? i have mixed feelings about it. because i think it makes unhappy girls feel even worse. like, hey, on top of your sadness, you’re not lookin so great either! BUT it also encourages us not to be vain and to focus on the important things. so it worked for me this month.
i thought about centering the banner and leaving it at that, but i wanted more up there. as you know, i don’t like a lot of clutter in the actual planning space. so if i wanted to use those butterflies, what better place for them than up there?
a hot air balloon on the right
notice the second hot air balloon. i LOVE that the flowers from the banner at the top of the page repeat in the balloon.
p.s. i don’t write in any events until i have set down my decorations.
i list monthly achievements in the sidebar.
i used to list my monthly achievements in the sidebar. (in fact, it was one of my earliest blog posts!) i stopped for some reason, and it was a mistake! some days i work my butt off all day, but as i go to bed i feel like i’ve accomplished nothing. i know it’s not true. but apparently i need a list to help myself see it!
washi tape for the bottom border
i forgot the washi tape at first. i laid down my potted cacti and they just looked SO. WEIRD. i flipped back to my august layout and remembered the washi tape.
it truly helps “ground” the stickers at the bottom of the page. this seafoam green washi matches the pattern on that cloud sticker so well.
the little birdie stole the show.
i knew i just had to use that bird! it was too tall for the top of the page. and its tail stuck out too far for the sidebar. finally, i extended my washi border onto the right page to create a little perch. i adore it.
the final product
