the book that changed my life
i just started rereading one of my most treasured books of self-transformation of all time: steering by starlight, written by life coach and harvard-educated sociologist martha beck. this book allowed me to quit my job as a lawyer, go back to school, and finally live my true destiny.
so yeah, this book literally changed my life!
since im a blogger, planner girl, and–as most of you probably don’t know–a part-time english professor, book clubs are obviously my jam.
therefore, i put two and two together and hit publish!
why i’m reading it again
lately, i’ve been feeling a little restless and impatient and questioning where my life is going. why aren’t i pursuing my writing as vigorously as i think i should? why am i teaching part-time? shouldn’t i be a full-time professor somewhere already? and, if i’m such a failure, shouldn’t i at least have a baby and shut everyone up about that already?
in other words, i’m starting to “should” all over myself all over again for the first time in several years. so, it’s time for a reboot.
steering by starlight: the science and magic of finding your destiny teaches you how to (re)gain sight of who you are and what you really want despite the chaos, pressures, and limiting stories of our everyday lives that tend to steer us off course.
if this sounds interesting to you, please join me on the adventure!
so join me!
so, fellow #plannergirls, i want to share our journeys of self-discovery and learn from eachother.
also, if i regularly check in and explore some of martha’s insights on here with yall, perhaps i will more easily stay on track.
so grab your own copy of steering by starlight, or don’t, and meet me back here next week!
