why should you keep a feel better list?
i started keeping a running list of things that make me feel better in my filofax about a year ago. it is one of the best planner decisions i have ever made. when i’m feeling down, whether it’s an inexplicable funk or the aftermath of a bad day, my list reminds me of all the little pick-me-ups that have successfully cheered me up or de-stressed me in the past.
what kind of stuff should go on your list?
these are tried and true activities that allow me to get lost in fun, tune out the world and relax, and even laugh at myself. like a session of taylor swift karaoke or an episode of frasier. every time i realize something succeeds in making me feel better (a
forced loving spooning session with my dog), i write it down on this list for next time.
how does the list make you feel better?
and let’s be honest. when you are so annoyed that all you can do is sit on your couch and play out the confrontation you’re going to have with your boss or neighbor or whoever, you aren’t exactly in the right frame of mind to remember that if you just run a warm lavender bath or treat yourself to a java chip frappuccino (with extra java chips obvi), everything will be alright. that’s where this list comes to the rescue!
so tell me. what’s on your list???
