how do you mark your spot in your planner? a cute clip to mark the day in my planner is one of my planner must-haves. while there are many available for purchase on etsy and from various planner and craft stores, it’s also fun to make them yourself.
plus, this step by step DIY tutorial even includes a free printable template to help you trace and cut out the paper bow for your planner clip.
with thanksgiving around the corner, november reminds us to give thanks for all that we have to be grateful for. that’s why this month’s planner girl provisions box came with this super pretty gratitude log. to fit the box’s “very vintage” theme, of course, we adapted a popular bullet journal spread with a vintage record motif so you could track your “grateful hits” all month long.
how to fill in your gratitude log
if you’re not familiar with this particular bullet journal layout, here’s how it works:
1. list the days of the month in the boxes of the inner circle.
in a clockwise direction, number the boxes of the innermost circle from 1 to 30 for each day in november. there are 31 boxes total, so you’ll have one extra box this month. if you use this gratitude log for december, you’ll have exactly 31 boxes for each day of the month.
2. list the day of the week in the boxes of the outer circle.
in the next concentric circle, write in the first letter of the weekday next to the corresponding date. m is for monday, t is for tuesday, and so on. does anybody else use r for thursday? ucla did this on academic calendars and class schedules back in my college days. so it just kind of stuck with me!
3. list one thing you are grateful for each day.
fill in the large spaces with a daily gratitude. it can be anything–big or small. for instance, the 6th was my mom’s birthday, so i was feeling especially grateful for her. that’s a pretty major one. a couple days before that, my husband and i saw a screening of willy wonka and the chocolate factory with live celebrity performances at the hollywood bowl. so on that night i felt immensely lucky to be living in los angeles and having world-famous, tourist-magnet venues at my disposal on a casual saturday night.
