my new favorite thing is to decorate the monthly pages in my planner. especially in my hourly erin condren. here’s how i decorated august.
the supplies i used
i mentioned last month that my husband bought me a bunch of echo park paper co. sticker sheets as part of my anniversary present. he’s a graphic designer, and so is my friend becky. and they both loved these stickers. which i think is saying a lot! so echo park paper–you go girls!
anyway, i digress. the star of my monthly spread is this summer fun sticker sheet by echo park paper.
i’ve had the bright pink polka dot washi tape for god knows how long and from god knows where. home goods maybe. but don’t you feel awesome when you use some veterans from your washi stash? even if it’s just a strip like mine.
left side of the spread
i don’t like too much clutter on my calendar pages. so, the blank boxes at the beginning of the month were the perfect spot for the ice cream truck.
i added those yellow sunglasses to the top header last actually. after i did the right side of the spread (below), that space seemed blank. those shades fill it nicely i think!
right side of the spread
my july monthly spread had paper lanterns too, so maybe this is cheating! but what can i say? stick to what you like. i can’t believe how perfectly this sticker sheet matches the yellow motif of these august pages.
the bottom of the monthly view just kind of ends, doesn’t it? so i added the pink washi. that way the swan had something to rest on too!
i had a ferris wheel in the july spread too. but this sticker sheet comes with THREE of them! so it’s not my fault. it just reminds me of cool summer nights at the beach…
the final touch is the colorful little pinwheel in the side bar. so fun!
i don’t usually use stickers in the weekly pages of this planner. but i think i’ll have to use some goodies from the planner girl provisions “endless summer” box. all those pineapples and flamingos would be right at home!
